Il ritual of beauty
From a most ancient link between desire and beauty comes the dressing table, combining aesthetics, elegance, and functionality. The dressing table represents a stylish idea for furnishing the sleeping area, evocative of the feminine ritual of putting on make-up, perfuming, and combing hair while sitting in front of a console with drawers and a mirror. This piece of furniture has great visual and emotional impact in our collective imagination, suggesting images of Hollywood silver-screen stars practicing their ritual of make-up and hairdressing. The dressing table is linked to the desk, sharing the same history, which Cantori has rediscovered, and included in its main collections. Due to its peculiar characteristics, the design of the dressing table is inspired by wavy shapes and soft lines which, while recalling the stylistic choices of each single collection, stand out and emanate a refined and very peculiar charm.
Symbolically, the dressing table belongs to a feminine sphere of pleasure, to the seductive consecration of the body, just as the desk is dedicated to ingenuity, to the preservation of epistolary relationships, and to creations of the imagination. But both, if with different needs, belong to the same sphere of desire: a desire to cultivate beauty. They are versatile, designed to be welcomed in a truly unique and special environment.
Louis, Shanghai, and City — Cantori's precious dressing tables — are pleasant furnishing elements created to be protagonists, by reinterpreting a feminine ritual in a contemporary key. Without the mirror, they become functional and very useful desks. Isidoro was born as a desk but, with a tabletop mirror, becomes a decorative dressing table.
Through these evocative elements Cantori confirms its unbounded creativity, placing its products out of time and disentangled from transitory whims and trends.
The Shanghai dressing table, desk, and console, designed by the architect Maurizio Manzoni, is part of a complete collection characterized by refined details, such as the metal elements, cylindrical and vertical, forged with facets which reinterpret the historic Cantori element.
They stand out thanks to their agile silhouette. The structure of the wooden drawers is supported by the cylindrical elements that characterize the whole collection. The top is available in wood, in the same finish as the doors, or covered with leather or eco-leather. The internal drawers are lacquered in the same colour. With the mirror, it turns into a dressing table. The round swivel mirror's metal edge is in the same finish as the stems.
The Shanghai is the contemporary result of a long research project, focused on a material — wrought iron — which is realized by the ingenuity and manual skill of our craftsmen, accompanying it throughout its whole process of creation. Reinterpreted by Maurizio Manzoni, wrought and hand-forged iron, combined with natural essences and precious lacquers, has given life to the latest creations which, individually or in composition, create an environment in perfect harmony with our contemporary lifestyles.

The Luis dressing table, desk, and console: unmistakable with its contemporary look. A functional design emphasizes its elegant harmony. The soft but well-defined lines are enhanced by the union of wood with metal. Luis has an iron structure with a round section: its stems overlap, forming two Xs connected to the wooden container, in the upper part, by means of a metal support. The top is made of wood, with a single drawer framed by the metal band that wraps around it on three sides. A storage compartment has been carved on the top. The dressing table is enriched by an ellipsoidal mirror with a metal support with the same finish.

The City dressing table, and desk expresses sophisticated elegance, with its top in two different heights and slender stems giving a feel of lightness to the whole.
The structure is in veneered wood, with an off-centre, soft-close drawer with jewel handles, and the feet are made of cold-tapered metal. The oval, double-layered mirror with diamond grinding is adjustable.
A desk/console version, without the mirror, is also available.
