Daniel Rode
Daniel Rode was born in France, and graduated in Interior Architecture and Design from the Ecole Boulle, in Paris. He made his debut in the fashion sector, designing handbags and accessories in China and Hong Kong. In 1992 he opened his design studio in Paris, applying his creativity to the world of interior design.
In 1999 he decided to move to Italy, where he started to design functional yet strikingly original objects, with a markedly creative imprint. His projects express a paradoxical combination of solid realism and dreamlike lightness. Thus, all the objects created by Daniel Rode, beyond their intrinsic logic and functionality, retain an unusual and magical aesthetic, with particular attention paid transformative elements. Daniel Rode strives towards an intuitive and pure aesthetic language. The common denominator of his creations is the attention paid to the human body: his designs are always ergonomic, albeit made in an unconventional way and employing ductile materials.
His original and careful approach has been recognized by important international awards.
